What is a virtual reality designer?

A Virtual Reality (VR) Designer is a professional who creates immersive digital environments and experiences using VR technology. Their role involves designing 3D spaces, interactive elements, and user interfaces that allow people to engage with virtual worlds, often for gaming, training, education, or entertainment. VR Designers use specialized software and collaborate with programmers, artists, and other team members to bring their concepts to life. They also focus on user experience, ensuring that the VR environment is intuitive and engaging. This field blends creativity with technical skills, requiring knowledge of design principles, 3D modeling, and VR development tools.

What are some common challenges virtual reality designers face when collaborating with cross-functional teams?

Virtual Reality Designers often work closely with developers, 3D artists, and product managers, which can present unique challenges such as aligning creative vision with technical constraints. Communication is key, as translating immersive design concepts into feasible features requires regular feedback and adaptability. Additionally, ensuring user experience consistency across hardware platforms adds complexity. Successful Virtual Reality Designers proactively engage in team meetings and leverage collaborative tools to bridge gaps between disciplines.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a virtual reality designer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Virtual Reality Designer, you need strong 3D modeling, UX/UI design, and spatial computing skills, often supported by a degree in design, computer science, or a related field. Proficiency with tools like Unity or Unreal Engine, VR hardware (e.g., Oculus, HTC Vive), and knowledge of programming languages such as C# or C++ are typically required. Creativity, problem-solving, and effective communication help designers collaborate and innovate in immersive environments. These skills are crucial for creating engaging, accessible, and technically robust VR experiences that meet user expectations.

What is the difference between Virtual Reality Designer vs 3D Artist?

Job description

About Invesco

Invesco is one of the worldโ€™s leading independent global investment firms dedicated to rethinking possibilities for our clients. We deliver the combined power of our distinctive investment management capabilities across a wide range of strategies and vehicles worldwide. If you are seeking challenging work, intelligent colleagues, and exposure across a global footprint, exploring your potential at Invesco may be the right fit.

Job Description

The CoPilot Studio Solution Architect is a senior technical leader responsible for the endโ€‘toโ€‘end architecture, design, and delivery of agent and copilot solutions built on Microsoft CoPilot Studio across Invesco. This role defines the reference architectures, integration standards, and governance patterns for lowโ€‘code AI agents that connect Microsoft 365 and core enterprise systems. The architect partners with business and technology stakeholders to translate priority use cases into secure, scalable, productionโ€‘grade copilot experiences aligned with Invescoโ€™s AI strategy, risk posture, and regulatory obligations. The role requires deep handsโ€‘on expertise across the Microsoft AI stack, a pragmatic delivery mindset, and the ability to translate emerging agentic capabilities into measurable business value.

Responsibilities
  • Solution Architecture & Design โ€“ Define and own the target architecture for CoPilot Studio agents at Invesco, including topic design, generative orchestration, knowledge sources, plugins, connectors, and handoff patterns to Microsoft 365 Copilot. Establish reference patterns for integrating CoPilot Studio with existing Invesco applications, infrastructure (including Cloud across Azure & AWS), and SaaS platforms. Lead architectural reviews, designโ€‘authority signโ€‘off, and technical due diligence for new copilot use cases across the enterprise.
  • Delivery & Engineering Leadership โ€“ Partner with product owners, business analysts, and makers to translate business needs into agent designs, conversation flows, and grounded knowledge strategies. Oversee the handsโ€‘on build of priority copilots โ€“ authoring topics, prompts, plugins, and custom connectors โ€“ and coach engineering teams on best practice. Drive Application Lifecycle Management, source control, environment strategy, and CI/CD for CoPilot Studio solutions using Power Platform Pipelines and Azure DevOps / GitHub.
  • Governance, Security & Responsible AI โ€“ Define and enforce guardrails for CoPilot Studio, including Data Loss Prevention policies, environment strategy, authentication (Entra ID, SSO, Onโ€‘Behalfโ€‘Of flows), data residency, and content moderation. Embed Responsible AI principles โ€“ grounding, citations, evaluation, redโ€‘teaming, and humanโ€‘inโ€‘theโ€‘loop โ€“ into every solution delivered. Ensure all copilots meet Invescoโ€™s information security, privacy, regulatory, and audit requirements.
  • Business Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement โ€“ Act as the trusted technical advisor to business sponsors, evangelizing both the capabilities and the realistic limits of CoPilot Studio and agentic AI. Build and run a CoPilot Studio centralized practice covering standards, templates, maker enablement, and a valueโ€‘tracking framework.
  • Operational Excellence โ€“ Establish observability, telemetry, conversation analytics, and quality metrics for production agents. Contribute to the management of capacity, consumption, licensing (messages, AI Builder credits, premium connectors), and total cost of ownership across the CoPilot Studio estate. Align CoPilot Studio delivery with Invescoโ€™s modern delivery models and productโ€‘aligned engineering teams.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 8+ years in solution architecture or senior engineering roles, with at least 2+ years handsโ€‘on with Microsoft CoPilot Studio (and/or predecessor Power Virtual Agents) delivering production agents.
  • Deep, demonstrable expertise across the Microsoft Power Platform โ€“ Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse, and AI Builder โ€“ together with Microsoft 365 Copilot extensibility (declarative agents, API plugins, connectors, and the CoPilot Studio agent builder).
  • Strong working knowledge of Azure AI services โ€“ Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search (vector and hybrid retrieval), Azure AI Foundry, Document Intelligence, and Content Safety.
  • Proven experience with conversational design, prompt engineering, retrievalโ€‘augmented generation (RAG), evaluation frameworks, and agent orchestration patterns, including multiโ€‘agent and Microsoft 365 Copilot handoff.
  • Solid grounding in identity (Entra ID, OAuth 2.0, Onโ€‘Behalfโ€‘Of flow), Microsoft Graph, SharePoint, and enterprise integration patterns (REST, Logic Apps, API Management).
  • Experience operating within regulated environments โ€“ financial services preferred โ€“ including data classification, DLP, and audit controls.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead architectural governance forums and mentor multiโ€‘disciplinary teams of professional developers and citizen makers.
  • Experience with Power Platform CLI, and Power Platform Pipelines for endโ€‘toโ€‘end ALM.
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g. ABโ€‘100, PLโ€‘600, PLโ€‘400, AIโ€‘102) would be a distinct advantage.
  • Experience integrating CoPilot Studio with lineโ€‘ofโ€‘business platforms in asset management, wealth, or capital markets would be a distinct advantage.
Employment Type

Full time. Employees are expected to comply with Invescoโ€™s current workplace model, which includes working at least four full days each week in an Invesco office.

Equal Opportunity

Invesco is an equalโ€‘opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, creed, color, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital status, national origin, citizenship status, disability, age, or veteran status.
