Job description

Telehealth Psychiatrist | Remote 1099
About Baba

Baba is rebuilding healthcare for older adults.

Navigating healthcare can be overwhelming. By 2030, over 65 million older adults will make up nearly a quarter of the U.S. population, creating one of the largest and most urgent challenges in healthcare. Baba makes it easier by pairing older adults with an expert advocate (usually a nurse or social worker) who coordinates their care. Baba's insurance-covered advocates have supported thousands of families by writing insurance appeals, researching specialists, getting medical equipment and cheaper medications, and scheduling appointments.

Baba's investors include General Catalyst, Genius Ventures, Soma Capital, and Ground Up Ventures, along with angel investors who were founders or executives of leading companies.

About the Role

As a Psychiatrist at Baba, you'll build strong relationships with patients and help deliver an unparalleled advocacy experience. You'll conduct brief telehealth intake visits to understand the challenges a patient is facing and determine whether they're suited to receive advocacy support.

You'll work closely with Baba's team of nurses and social workers to help patients achieve their health goals, and with our technology team to help shape AI tools that enhance the clinical experience. This is an opportunity to help build a new patient care program from the ground up, ensuring Baba is well-equipped to serve one of healthcare's most vulnerable populations.

We're looking for a psychiatrist who cares deeply about improving care access for Medicare-aged patients and is excited to work at an early-stage startup.

What You'll Do

  • Learn Baba's systems, tools, technology, and partners, while bringing your clinical expertise to every patient interaction.

  • Conduct initial evaluations with patients who have behavioral health and advocacy needs.

  • Identify and prioritize patient needs to maintain a streamlined care continuum.

  • Oversee patient care plans in partnership with healthcare advocates, holistically addressing social determinants of health โ€” food resources, transportation access, and support at home.

  • Collaborate with our technology team to help develop innovative AI tools that enhance the clinical experience.

  • Bring a positive attitude and a bias toward action in a fast-paced, startup environment.

What You Bring

  • Board certification in adult psychiatry. (Required)

  • Licensed in multiple states (Required)

  • Prior experience working with Medicare patients.

  • Proficiency with EMRs, care management platforms, and telehealth workflows.

  • Superior communication skills; listening and empathy are the foundation of every patient interaction at Baba.

  • Comfort working with adults of all ages who have behavioral health, medical, and health-related social needs.

  • Prior experience delivering care via telehealth.

  • Bilingual a plus +

Why Join Baba

  • Help shape a new model of integrated, tech-enabled care advocacy that unites clinical oversight with social support.

  • Contribute your clinical voice to a system built to empower better patient outcomes โ€” Baba welcomes your feedback and iterates fast.

  • Join a mission-driven team building the care copilot that every patient deserves.
