Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The Production Planning Supervisor reports to the Director of Supply Chain Management & Materials, while supporting other areas, including Inside Sales, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Shipping.  The Supervisor is expected to supervisor the Production Control Clerk/Expeditor(s), establish, and coordinate the production schedule, ensuring the flow of materials between departments.

DUTIES:

  • Prepare and maintain a production schedule for jobs, review/adjust the schedule where needed in the Web Scheduler software.
  • Ensure efficient collaboration and communication between departments
  • Run the Morning Huddle Production Meeting.
  • Maintain suggested inventory stock levels through Enterprise Planning.
  • Meet or exceed on time delivery on customer due dates and specials.
  • Open/close work orders, Issues material, and completes Sage transactions daily.
  • Follow through on expedited requests.
  • Communicate with Management on any customer order concerns.
  • Ensures team follows all operating, health/safety procedures, and quality standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ scheduling experience required
  • Familiar with ISO Standards and ERP/Scheduling systems.
  • Experience with ERP and Scheduling software, preferably Sage X3 and Web Scheduler.

SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of management, and Lean production principles.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Planning, Time, and Organization Management.
  • High Communication and Decision-making skills.
  • Promotes Teamwork
