Position Overview: Madison International Realty is seeking a motivated and analytical Investments Intern to join its investment team in our New York City headquarters. The Intern will gain hands-on experience across the investment lifecycle, including financial analysis, underwriting, valuation, asset management, financing, and disposition activities.

Working closely with senior management and the portfolio management team, the Intern will analyze existing investments, prepare financial models and sensitivity analyses, assist with potential transactions, and develop an understanding of leasing, budgeting, reforecasting, and waterfall structures.

The ideal candidate will have strong academic credentials in finance, economics, real estate, or a related field, excellent analytical and Excel skills, and a demonstrated interest in real estate investment and finance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gain hands-on experience preparing financial analyses to support the firm's due diligence of potential investment opportunities
  • Assist with cash flow modeling and valuation of individual assets and portfolios
  • Develop an understanding of financial, legal, and transaction documents and their impact on valuation and projected investment returns
  • Support research and due diligence efforts for potential acquisitions
  • Gain exposure to communication with internal and external stakeholders throughout the transaction process
  • Assist in preparing investment committee memoranda and gain exposure to Investment Committee presentations
  • Learn how investment opportunities, transaction structures, and deal terms are evaluated
  • Build knowledge of economic and real estate market trends and their impact on investment decisions
  • Participate in select real estate industry seminars and conferences, as appropriate


Qualified Candidates Must Possess:

  • Rising sophomore or junior status in an undergraduate program, preferably pursuing a degree in finance, economics, real estate, or a related field
  • Strong academic credentials and demonstrated analytical capabilities
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, with familiarity with Microsoft Office and financial or real estate applications such as Argus preferred
  • Strong interest in real estate, finance, and investment management, demonstrated through coursework, internships, or other relevant experience
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
