Job description

Job Duties

Regions Hospital is looking to hire an exceptional, patient focused Registered Nurse to join our Trauma & Surgical Unit and make a difference for our patients and our community.

This unit is very fast paced. Patients on this general/progressive surgical, specialties surgical and trauma care unit include: trauma, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, amputations, colorectal, non-trauma emergent surgery, oncology surgical, plastics surgical, GYN surgical & surgical patients requiring BiPaP, tracheostomies, laryngectomies, complex wounds and/or bedside telemetry. We care for patients age 16 and above.

We are known for saving lives in our Level I Trauma Center, and our nursing staff are key to the exceptional care we provide each patient. Our Professional Nursing Practice Model offers patient and family-centered care that maintains an unwavering focus on what matters most: caring and healing at the patient's bedside. As a nursing professional you will be empowered to manage your clinical practice and working environment through our Shared Governance Model, which focuses on evidence-based nursing practice. Regions Hospital supports nurses with an individualized orientation including Transition to Regions Hospital Practice program which is a nurse residency structured program to support learning, role transition, and retention of nurses. All new hire registered nurses at Regions Hospital will be automatically enrolled. Our award-winning programs give our patients and their families a place of comfort and healing. Work Schedule: 0.70 Day/Evening. 8 hour evening shifts during the week; 12 hour day shifts every 3rd weekend.

Required Qualifications:

-Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree or Associate Degree in Nursing and 1 year of RN experience

-Internal new graduate applicants can meet minimum requirements with an Associate Degree in Nursing

-Licensed as a registered nurse by the State of Minnesota

-CPR for the professional rescuer or BLS for healthcare providers

-Must have exceptional interpersonal skills and strong ability to work with a wide range of patients from varied cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications:

-BSN/MSN strongly preferred and generally expected that BSN/MSN is obtained within 5 years of hire

-One year of acute care RN experience is preferred
