Job Summary

The Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse delivers comprehensive perioperative nursing care for elective and emergency surgical cases across multiple specialties. The OR RN efficiently multi-tasks to maintain surgical case schedules and participates in after-hours call coverage for nights, weekends, and holidays.

Core Responsibilities & Surgical Specialties
  • Surgical Care Delivery: Provide perioperative care for a wide range of elective and emergency surgical procedures, including:
    • Abdominal & Thoracic
    • Orthopedics & Vascular
    • OB/GYN & Urology
    • ENT & Plastic Surgery
  • OR Workflow Management: Multi-task efficiently to ensure surgical cases proceed on schedule throughout the day.
  • On-Call Coverage: Provide after-hours call coverage for nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Qualifications & Preferred Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN, ADN, or Diploma); High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Licensure: Valid, current, full, and unrestricted RN license in the State of Alaska at time of submission.
  • Required Experience: Minimum 3 years of Operating Room (OR) nursing experience.
  • Certifications:
    • Current BLS
    • ACLS
    • PALS
  • Preferred Experience: Prior experience in a Critical Access Hospital and/or Rural Operating Room environment is strongly preferred.
