Position Requirements

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certified in General Surgery or Plastic Surgery
  • West Virginia medical license or eligibility for licensure
  • Completion of General Surgery or Plastic Surgery residency
  • Wound Care certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • Hyperbaric Medicine certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)

Wound Healing Center Program Highlights

Since opening in 2007, the Wound Healing Center has maintained excellent patient satisfaction scores and a strong reputation for high-quality outcomes. The clinic is supported by a highly experienced, multidisciplinary team, including four full-time registered nurses who are extensively trained in wound care and hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) certified, as well as a dedicated full-time HBO technician with more than 25 years of experience who also serves as the Hyperbaric Safety Director. The program is further supported by on-site registration staff and full-time security, ensuring efficient operations and a safe, patient-centered environment.

Conveniently located near CAMC General Hospital, the center offers a broad scope of procedures, including but not limited to wound debridement, biopsies, lesion excision with primary repair, uncomplicated burns, nail and nailbed procedures, wound bed preparation with skin substitutes, skin grafting, negative pressure wound therapy, compression therapy, total contact casting, and minor amputations. The center operates two on-site monoplace hyperbaric chambers in full compliance with CMS guidelines.

At its core, the Wound Healing Center is committed to quality care delivered with compassion and respect, offering physicians the opportunity to practice in a well-established, well-supported program with experienced staff and a predictable outpatient-focused schedule.
