Job description

Family Medicine is located within the Baldwin Building, NW Clinic, NE Clinic, SE Clinic, and Kasson Clinic.  The exact practice location will be determined based on practice needs at the time of hire.


The NP or PA will work in a care team setting in collaboration with other team members including physicians and other allied health staff. The NP or PA will be involved in population management strategies to improve chronic illness outcomes. The provision of care includes but is not limited to comprehensive evaluation, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescription of pharmacologic agents and treatments, non-pharmacologic therapies, and counseling patients.


During the selection process you may participate in an OnDemand (pre-recorded) interview that you can complete at your convenience. During the OnDemand interview, a question will appear on your screen, and you will have time to consider each question before responding. You will have the opportunity to re-record your answer to each question - Mayo Clinic will only see the final recording. The complete interview will be reviewed by a Mayo Clinic staff member and you will be notified of next steps.

Family Nurse Practitioner: Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current MN RN and APRN license and certification as an FNP.  DNP is preferred.


Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the MN State Board of Medical Practice. DMSc is preferred.


Additional Qualifications:

  • Active BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date and DEA registration required
  • NP or PA provider experience preferred.
  • Experience in primary care preferred.
  • Previous experience working with pediatric as well as adult patients preferred.
  • The candidate should be comfortable with autonomy, independent decision making, and possess excellent communication skills.
  • The preferred candidate will be a team player, who is comfortable seeing patients of all ages. He/she will function as a member of a care team, seeing patients for chronic disease management, preventive care, health promotion and acute care.
