Can virtual social workers work virtually?

Virtual social workers, including licensed master’s social workers (LMSWs), can perform their duties remotely using telehealth platforms, secure communication tools, and electronic health records. They typically provide counseling, case management, and support services through video calls or phone sessions, often requiring appropriate licensure and compliance with privacy regulations. Many organizations now offer fully remote positions for social workers, especially in mental health and community support roles.
