Job description

Work Study BSU Success Program Mentor

The Office of Student Success and Equity Interventions (SSEI) strives to provide students with support through multiple outlets. We aim to serve all students and give them the best experience at Bridgewater State University by being a resource on campus. In this role you will partner with the BSU Success Program Lead, Navigators, faculty, and the faculty coordinator to support the BSU Success Program initiatives and enhance student engagement. Responsibilities include: Assist in the implementation and assessment of SSEI events throughout the academic year. Aide the BSU Success Program team on developing mentor programming and strategies centered around the BSU Success Program and other office initiatives. Assist with marketing campaigns. Building rapport and maintaining a positive and supportive relationship with the mentee and BSU Success Program Staff. Provide peer-to-peer support to the mentee. Report and/or document any potentially harmful behavior or circumstances presented by the mentee. Assist with other tasks assigned. You will also be expected to attend program workshops and connect with their assigned mentees for a minimum of 8 hours per month. These may be either in person or virtual through various methods such as in-person meetings, phone calls, video calls, or messaging.
