Job description

Job Purpose: This position serves to provide care to patients under the direction of a medical practitioner in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations. 

What You Will Do: 

  • Prepares patient charts for upcoming visits, ensuring all necessary forms are completed, reviewed, and properly integrated into the patient's chart.
  • Welcomes patients, conducts check-in, and escorts them to examination rooms.
  • Performs delegated medical tasks, including recording vitals, medical history, reasons for the visit, and documenting all in the patient's medical record.
  • Conducts visual acuity screenings as part of routine physical exams.
  • Administers injections and assists providers with medical procedures.
  • Performs blood draws, collects specimens, conducts urine drug screenings, and communicates results.
  • Maintains cleanliness and readiness of exam rooms between appointments, including stocking necessary supplies and disposing of expired supplies and biohazard waste.
  • Works collaboratively with providers to troubleshoot patient issues.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

What We Need From You: 

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant certificate or a CAAHEP-accredited program required.
  • An associate degree in a health-related field or certification as a Medical Assistant preferred.
  • At least six months of healthcare experience preferred.
  • Must hold valid and current BLS certification, and an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card (Denova will assist with obtaining a Fingerprint Clearance Card upon acceptance of offer).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in using electronic record-keeping systems such as EMR, billing software, insurance carrier portals, and spreadsheets preferred.
  • Bilingual candidates are highly valued, but not a requirement.
  • Applicants must be 21 years of age or older to qualify for this position. 

Your Work Schedule: 

  • This is an onsite position, Monday through Friday, with standard hours of 8:00 AM โ€“ 5:00 PM.
