Job description

Summary To provide virtual math and/or literacy tutoring to students in 4th and 5th grades. Career Readiness Competencies: Career & Self-Development Leadership Professionalism Essential Functions Tutor 4th and 5th grade students virtually and in person in mathematics and/or reading. Prepare content for tutoring sessions.

Attend professional development trainings. Minimum Qualifications Must be an education major, with preference for IEC, MCE, and IS students. Available Mondays and Wednesdays between 3:00-6:00 p.m

Additional Information Weekly commitment of approximately five hours per week. Tutoring will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays between 3pm and 6pm throughout the semester with up to four trainings/meetings (approx. 1-2 hour each) during the semester.

Tutors work with small groups of up to 4 students. Provides teaching experience while supporting students in local partner schools. Learn real world skills in multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS), social emotional learning, progress monitoring, and targeted reading and/or mathematics instruction.

Develop proficiency in providing instruction in online settings. Ongoing professional development included. Opportunity to learn strategies to support students' social emotional learning, targeted reading and/or mathematics instruction, and progress monitoring.
