Job description

About the Opportunity

We are looking for a Social Media Engagement Specialist who is nimble, creative, and looking to be the daily heartbeat of our channels. This isn't just about scheduling posts; it's about the "Social" in Social Media. You will be the main voice talking to our community, building trust, and finding the "earned media" moments that an API might miss. You are equal parts community manager, social-first creator, and engagement strategist. You're someone who knows how to build trust, spark interaction, test what resonates, and help Contentful adapt to how social platforms and audiences behave today.

What to expect?
  • Community Management and Social Listening: Own the "social inbox" and engage daily with our audience to build relationships, strengthen trust, and surface relevant moments to the Social and Content teams. Monitor mentions, community conversations, competitors, and industry trends to uncover opportunities for Contentful to participate in timely and meaningful ways.
  • Calendar Management: Contribute to the editorial calendar, ensuring a consistent drumbeat of content that aligns with our marketing strategy.
  • Content Execution: Create, edit, and schedule engaging social-first content that feels human and relatable but also can be technical.
  • Emerging Platforms: Conduct regular channel audits (new and existing) and research emerging trends to recommend shifts in strategy. You'll also drive our YouTube process, from description optimization to channel growth recommendations.
  • Reporting: Remain in tune with post and profile performance to contribute to the monthly and quarterly series. We want you to use data to identify what's driving audience growth, strong engagement, and relevance, and translate those insights into recommendations that improve your content, strategy, and tactics.
  • Employee Advocacy: Manage the front-end of our employee advocacy program, including content uploads and platform management to empower the wider Contentful team.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Content, Events, and Campaign teams to ensure social reflects our broader business priorities and maintains a consistent editorial calendar.
What you need to be successful?
  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience managing social media channels for a brand, an agency, or an executive.
  • Skills: An exceptional writer with a "human" touch; exposure to tools like Sprout Social or Hootsuite; basic design/video editing skills.
  • Mindset: Curious and comfortable working in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment. You aren't afraid to "step up" and suggest a better way to do things. That's what you're here for!
  • Curious: You pay attention to internet culture, audience behavior, and emerging formats, platform features, and shifts in how brands and communities engage online.
  • Full-Stack Marketer: You blend high-level creativity with technical fluency. You don't just guess what to create; you use data and best-in-breed tools to decide who it's for and what to improve.
What's in it for you?
  • Join an ambitious tech company reshaping the way people build digital experiences
  • Full-time employees receive Stock Options for the opportunity to share in the success of our company
  • Comprehensive healthcare package covering 100% of monthly health premiums for employees and 85% of costs for your dependents.
  • Fertility and family building benefits, including a lifetime reimbursable wallet to support your growing family.
  • We value Work-Life balance and You Time! A generous amount of paid time off, including vacation days, sick days, compassion days for loss,  education days, and volunteer days
  • Company paid parental leave to care for and focus on your growing family
  • Use your personal annual education budget to improve your skills and grow in your career
  • Enjoy a full range of virtual and in-person events, including workshops, guest speakers, and fun team activities, supporting learning and networking exchange beyond the usual work duties
  • An annual wellbeing stipend to care for your physical, financial, or emotional health
  • A monthly communication stipend and phone hardware upgrade reimbursement.
  • New hire office equipment stipend for hybrid or distributed employees. Get the gear you need to work at your best.
