Job Summary:
Research Innovations Inc. (RII) is redefining defense technology, seeking a committed CNO Developer to join their Cyber security team. The role involves solving challenging problems for Defense and Homeland Security customers through the development of advanced software capabilities.
Responsibilities:
• Build offense-grade software that operates in denied, constrained, and adversarial environments
• Design, implement, and debug custom CNO capabilities across userland, kernel, and network layers
• Tear down, modernize, and re-engineer legacy and acquired tooling for performance, stealth, and maintainability
• Develop software that runs where defenders don’t want it (Windows, Linux/Unix, embedded, mobile, and network devices)
• Perform deep binary analysis and reverse engineering across architectures and calling conventions
• Own and evolve reproducible build systems, toolchains, and test harnesses
• Work close to the metal: compilers, loaders, memory, execution flow, and runtime behavior
• Travel as determined by the customer
Qualifications:
Required:
• Active US Top Secret security clearance
• Ability to upgrade to TS/SCI Special Access Program access
• Significant experience programming in C and Python
• Direct experience developing CNO or exploit capabilities
• Embedded or firmware development experience on resource-constrained systems
• Experience developing in one (1) or more of the following: Windows applications using Visual Studio or .NET environments, UNIX applications using make files or comparable build environments
• Familiarity with software version control tools (e.g., Git, Subversion, or CVS)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline concepts and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, or Bamboo)
• Experience using software debugging/troubleshooting tools and techniques
• Software Analysis/Reverse Engineering experience
• Comfort writing assembly or mixed C/ASM when the problem demands it
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to effectively interact with customers
Preferred:
• Mentored and coached other engineers or fulfilled the role of Tech Lead
• Experience working across OSI layers, including packet-level analysis and manipulation
