Job description

Independently operate and support the VCF private cloud platform across multiple workload domains and clusters.
Perform and validate lifecycle operations including patching, upgrades, certificate rotations, and platform remediation.
Provision and optimize workload domains and shared hosting resources for internal customers.
Troubleshoot platform issues across compute, storage, and network layers with limited supervision.
Build, maintain, and improve IaC templates, golden images, and standard deployment patterns.
Monitor service performance, utilization, and growth trends; recommend remediation or capacity adjustments.
Partner with adjacent teams on issue resolution involving virtualization, storage, networking, and server platforms.
Participate in on-call rotation and serve as a primary technical responder for common platform incidents.
Contribute to runbook development, operational standardization, and service improvement efforts.
Support adoption of additional VCF platform tools and related private cloud services.
Assist with automation of recurring operational tasks and manual workflows.
Schedule & Presence: This on-site role supports 24/7 operations through real-time collaboration, standard shifts occur within a 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM window, Monday through Friday. Additionally, this position requires scheduled on-call flexibility and the ability to remain reasonably reachable during off-hours for critical business continuity.
Preferred Qualifications
VMware certification such as VCP-VCF, VCP-DCV, or related advanced certification.
Experience with Aria Operations, Aria Automation, Aria Suite Lifecycle, or similar VCF ecosystem tools.
Familiarity with backup, recovery, or disaster recovery platforms supporting VCF-hosted workloads.
Exposure to private cloud service design, hosting standards, or tenant-oriented service delivery.
Experience with API-based automation and integration across infrastructure platforms.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in virtualization, infrastructure engineering, or private cloud operations.
Proven hands-on experience administering VCF, SDDC Manager, and vSphere environments.
Experience executing lifecycle operations in production environments.
Working knowledge of vSAN and NSX in support of hosted platform services.
Experience troubleshooting across compute, storage, and virtual networking domains.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain scripts or automation workflows using PowerCLI, Python, Ansible, or similar tools.
Experience with server operating systems, patching, monitoring, and platform support practices.
Ability to manage operational priorities in a multi-system production environment.
