Quality Engineer

Program Summary
Quality Engineer We are currently seeking a talented Quality Engineer at our customers Middletown, CT facility. Aerospace Quality Assurance Engineers ensure that aerospace products and systems meet established standards and requirements. They are involved in the whole production process, from design and manufacturing to testing and delivery, and they work to improve system reliability and safety.
Job Summary
Develop and implement plans to accomplish Quality department objectives that support schedule and meet customer contract objectives.
Roles and Responsibilities
Work with and interpret blueprints, drawings, and mil-specs in accordance with government and/or customer contract requirements.
Monitor status of NC's and MRB activities to ensure milestones are accomplished.
Identify problems in production related to NC's and assure a plan is developed in coordination with other operating departments for implementing corrective actions. Initiate corrective action, if appropriate.
Provide leadership on quality issues concerning both customers and internal to assure effective cause, corrective and preventive action; monitor for continued effectiveness.
Participate in program reviews and product cell meetings.
Support Quality Department FAI inspection activities.
Serve as liaison between MRB and management to ensure requirements, cost and schedule are maintained. May be required to develop and present quality metrics management.
Assist in the development and presentation of training programs, as needed.
Follow standard departmental and company procedures as outlined by management.
Basic Qualifications
  • 3 to 5 years of quality assurance experience in quality assurance or related responsibilities, or AS degree in related technical field and 4 to 7 years of experience in quality assurance or related responsibilities.
  • Broad knowledge of a general technical field such as quality assurance or quality engineering.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 regulations.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business or Technical discipline preferred with applicable experience.
  • Working knowledge of aerospace quality practices and industry standards.
  • Strong computer skills with high level proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Excel and PowerPoint as well as comfortability working with virtual communication and meeting tools such as Teams or similar.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Experience with project management and facilitation.
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of leadership.
  • Ability to identify risks and mitigating actions to achieve positive results.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to interface within and between culturally diverse organizations, data, define actions, and implement solutions.
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for implementing solutions.
  • Knowledge and application of statistical analysis methods is preferred.
  • Excellent team building skills, creating constructive and open environments for sharing data.
  • Experience with Aerospace products.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability to drive step change improvements in quality performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and manage the activities of multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, including ability to interpret data, define actions, and implement solutions.
  • Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for implementing solutions.
  • Adept in soliciting facts and opinions from all team members and creating a constructive and open environment for sharing data.
  • Capable of making fact-based decisions and communicating with team members as to why certain facts or recommendations prevailed over others.
