About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Technician II - (Bi-Injection) for 2nd Shift. This role is responsible for setting up complex injection molding processes, including multi-shot and multi-cavaity injection molding setups, troubleshooting, processing support, material flow, assembly support, and finished-part packaging. This role ensures first-time quality, reduces scarp and downtime, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced injection molding professional looking to lead, troubleshoot, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Comply with all internal safety procedures and OSHA regulations and participate in required safety training and support a safe work environment.
  • Perform complete and accurate setups of multi-shot/multi-cavity molds, including loading approved process programs and ensuring proper hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and water connections per process book documentation.
  • Manage shot size balance between materials, transfer timing between first and second shot, mold rotation, indexing, or transfer mechanisms.
  • Troubleshoot common molding defects (short shots, flash, sinks, warp) and diagnose more advanced defects (delamination, poor adhesion, flow imbalance) by following systematic troubleshooting procedures including stopping the process when nonconforming material is detected.
  • Install, configure, calibrate, and remove all robots and auxiliary equipment (thermolators, hot runner controllers, etc.).
  • Work with Process Engineers to improve process development and other continuous improvement activities aimed at cycle-time reduction and process stability.
  • Perform dry ice blasting, mold cleaning, and apply appropriate mold release agents.
  • Provide coaching and technical direction to molding technicians and support staff.
  • Coordinate with schedulers, material handlers, and other departments to meet production and shipping requirements.
  • Maintain organization and readiness of die-setting stations (supports SMED initiatives).
  • Complete SAP work orders and accurately document process information, quality checks, and setup records in RayPro, MES, SAP, and paper logs.
  • Maintain accurate tool and equipment records, including housekeeping conditions of machines and peripherals.
  • Work overtime as needed and perform other related duties and projects as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or advance coursework preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience as an injection mold setter and Process Technician, preferably with bi-injection / 2-shot molding.
  • Hands-on experience with molding hygroscopic and non-hygroscopic resins.
  • Experience with RJG eDART System. Master Molder I & II certification a plus.
  • Experience with ERP and MES Systems.

Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of plastic materials and process parameters for multi-shot injection molding.
  • Deep understanding of material compatibility and adhesion, sequential injection timing, and complex tooling (rotary platens, stack molds, indexing molds)
  • Strong organizational, analytical, troubleshooting, and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication (in English)
  • Knowledge of 5S and SMED philosophy.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work weekends and overtime when necessary.
  • Professional demeanor and ethical conduct, including handling confidential information appropriately.
