Job Description
We are hiring a Registered Infusion Nurse (RN) for our Hematology/Oncology Clinic at our East Hospital location in Lee's Summit, Missouri.
The Shift:
This is a full time day shift position working Monday through Friday.
Work schedule is 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Work:
Infusion RN for a busy hematology and oncology infusion center at the St. Luke's East campus.
  • Functions independently and accountable for utilizing the nursing process.
  • Coordinates the care for a group of patients with the Multidisciplinary Team.
  • Delegates tasks appropriately.
  • Identifies hospital resources.
  • Serves as a clinical resource for new employees.
  • Demonstrates positive formal or informal leadership within unit or department.
  • Schedules emergent-need appointments.
  • Provides patient education on particular procedures and processes.
  • Is subject matter expert in respective specialty for hospital RNs in the units.
  • Regularly meets with other disciplines to share best practices on care treatments.
  • Will have face-to-face contact with patients.
  • Patient care time within the clinic typically is for patients with a long-term treatment process.
  • Work generally performed within a specialty clinic setting.
  • Oncology or infusion experience preferred
  • Great opportunity to learn and grow within a busy oncology clinic. Work alongside 7 other oncology infusion nurses, APPs, MDs, medical assistants, clinic nurses, and onsite pharmacy.
  • Ideal candidate will have strong IV skills, good time management, and be able to thrive in an ever ever changing environment in a busy infusion center.
  • Occasional weekend and holiday coverage.
  • Oncology or infusion experience preferred
  • Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification required but can be obtained after hire.
