Job description

Medical Associates Infusion Center is looking to add a full-time Registered Nurse to the team at our West Campus! The Medical Associates Infusion Center offers services with a dedicated team that regularly collaborates with patients referred from other primary care and specialty care areas such as gastroenterology, rheumatology, and neurology. The Infusion Center provides care to patients requiring both single and continuous infusion treatments.
 
Schedule/Hours: 4 days per week, 72 hours per pay period. The primary schedule is between the hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday.

Location: West Campus, 1500 Associates Drive

About the Infusion Center: 
The Infusion Center works closely with our other medical and surgical practitioners for a coordinated approach to patient care. Common conditions treated include:
  • Neurological disorders, such as multiple sclerosis and muscular dystrophy
  • Autoimmune disorders 
  • Dehydration
  • Gastrointestinal inflammatory disorders, such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis
  • Migraines
  • Rheumatological disorders
  • Osteoporosis
  • Anemia
  • Thyroid eye disease
  • Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS)
All Infusions administered within the Infusion Center are non-chemotherapy medications.
 
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with health care team to direct/perform nursing assessment and interventions according to plan of care.
  • Integrate the nursing process in all patient contact, care, diagnostic testing, and treatments. Collect pertinent patient health care data, review medical records and confer/collaborate with physician/mid-level providers to ensure patient needs are met.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, and others. Promote patient wellness and provide patient education.
  • Document care provided, including but not limited to: assessment, interventions, medication, patient education, and assist with integrity of medical record.
  • Maintain an office environment that is safe, neat, organized, and supplied with necessary equipment, instruments, supplies, and educational materials. Ensure equipment is functioning safely and properly. Perform cleaning and maintenance of equipment according to guidelines.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in performing other additional duties of patient care. Provide input for devising systems to improve quality and efficiency of patient care and workflow. Participate in required meetings.
  • Facilitate reimbursement of services provided, including but not limited to: charge tickets, referrals, and insurance requirements.
  • Complete all other assigned projects and duties.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience: From three months to one year of similar or related experience. Previous Infusion experience is a plus!

Education: Equivalent to a two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study or certification at a business or trade school. RN license required.
