Job description

Role Summary/Purpose:

Synchrony's Consumer Bank provides an award-winning suite of products, that help our customers save smart for today and tomorrow. We also serve as a primary funding source for the enterprise and are critical to Synchrony's broader growth.

The VP, Consumer Bank Product is responsible for the management of Synchrony's Consumer Bank products through various channels. We are seeking a strategic and execution-focused Product Manager to help with the vision, KPIs, and roadmap of our digital deposit product- including savings, money market, and CDs - across web and mobile channels. You will sit at the intersection of business strategy, customer experience, and technology, acting as the connective tissue between engineering, finance, strategic initiatives, compliance, risk, and marketing.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Define the product vision and multi-year roadmap for digital deposit acquisition, onboarding, and servicing experiences. Own annual strategy planning and roadmap whitepaper creation with external benchmarking and latest thoughts around business needs.

  • Partner with the Consumer Bank SI, Pricing, CX, and Marketing teams to drive innovative product management and solutions

  • Monitor and measure product metrics and KPIs to define product success and prioritize future capabilities

  • Conduct competitive benchmarking and market analysis to identify whitespace opportunities and feature gaps. Maintain a strong understanding of our competitor products and experiences, and proactively communicate and activate on industry trends

  • Coordinate with SI & Marketing to shape the product backlog; prioritize features based on customer impact, business value, and technical feasibility

  • Partner closely with Engineering, UX/Design, Data Science, Compliance, Legal, Fraud, and Operations to deliver high-quality releases

  • Coordinate with Marketing on go-to-market plans, customer communications, and feature adoption campaigns

  • Manage vendor and third-party partner relationships where applicable (e.g., core banking integrations, EWS, Yoodle, etc...)

  • Define KPIs and success metrics for all products and initiatives (e.g., funnel conversion, activation rates, deposit balances, NPS)

  • Present performance updates and executive-level readouts to senior stakeholders

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 7+ years of product management experience, preferably in consumer banking, fintech, or digital financial services

  • Ability to travel - 20%

Grade/Level: 12

The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
