Position Overview:

The Epic Caboodle Developer designs, develops, tests, documents, maintains, and troubleshoots database objects, ETL processes, and custom reporting solutions across a broad suite of Business Intelligence and data integration tools. This role is responsible for implementing reliable data pipelines and scalable data structures, as well as creating and optimizing various reporting products for business users. The developer actively supports the full project lifecycle, including gathering and defining requirements, solution design, solution development, automated and manual quality assurance testing, and user acceptance testing phases of projects.


Essential Functions:

  • Analyzing non-Caboodle datasets to identify required data elements to be moved into Caboodle
  • Mapping non-Epic datasets to existing database structures within Caboodle
  • Designing and developing custom database structures within Caboodle as needed
  • Developing custom imports to move additional pieces of Epic data from Clarity to Caboodle
  • Developing custom import packages to move non-Epic data into Caboodle
  • Designing data models to meet organization-specific goals and use cases
  • Leading decisions around coding practices and version control
  • Responsible for the execution of full reporting lifecycle; from design, development, testing, documentation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation of processes and systems.
  • Lead working sessions directly with OCHIN members, third party vendors, and/or staff to design and develop technical solutions that fit reporting and analytic needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Required current certificates (at least one or two) for this position: Caboodle Data Model, Caboodle Development for Clarity Data, Caboodle Development for Non-Epic Data
  • Proficiency with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Proficiency in data architecting and data modeling
  • Preferred Additional Experience - Database administration preferred and larger healthcare setting experience
  • Minimum of five years of experience in similar or relevant role.
  • Work history in Healthcare IT is required.
  • Minimum three - five years of experience in Information Technology or related field required.
  • Minimum three - five years of experience with complex SQL development required.
  • Minimum three - five years of experience with custom Caboodle development required
  • Strong communication skills - able to communicate with both application and technical team members, as well as end users.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

  • Constant interpersonal skills, teamwork, and customer service. Frequent creativity, mentoring, presentations/teaching. Occasional decision making and independent judgment or action.
  • Reading, speaking, writing, and understanding English.
  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms.
  • This position requires a virtual home-office environment, working remotely.
  • The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and mobile devices.
  • Standard up to - 10% - Based on OCHIN business need

Work Location and Travel Requirements

OCHIN is a 100% remote organization with no physical corporate office location. Employees work remotely from home and many of our positions also support our member organizations on-site for new software installations. Nationwide travel is determined based on OCHIN business needs. Please inquire during the interview process about travel requirements for this position.

Base Pay Overview

OCHIN uses broadened pay ranges to support equitable and market-aligned compensation practices. The final offer will be based on a variety of factors, including relevant skills, certifications, education, experience, training, responsibilities, internal equity, and market data.
