Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Azure Virtual Desktop Architect with 12+ years of experience to lead the design, implementation, optimization, and escalation support of enterprise virtual desktop and application delivery platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Azure Virtual Desktop and experience supporting enterprise end-user computing modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, implement, and maintain Azure Virtual Desktop environments across development, test, pre-production, and production environments.
• Design highly available and disaster recovery-ready virtual desktop and application delivery environments.
• Develop enterprise architecture solutions, deployment standards, reference architectures, and operational support documentation.
• Design scalable, secure, resilient, and optimized virtual desktop and published application environments.
• Support modernization of end-user computing services, including Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365 solutions.
• Support Citrix replacement and migration initiatives.
• Manage and optimize Intune policies, application packaging, and application delivery.
• Support critical business applications within enterprise virtual desktop environments.
• Lead production readiness reviews and support disaster recovery planning and testing activities.
• Optimize AVD host pools, scaling plans, FSLogix profiles, image management, and performance monitoring.
• Develop infrastructure standards and reference architectures for enterprise AVD deployments.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, performance, authentication, connectivity, and user experience issues.
• Provide technical escalation support and drive issues through resolution.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, application, and end-user computing teams to deliver reliable virtual desktop solutions.
Required Qualifications
• 12+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure, end-user computing, cloud, or virtual desktop technologies.
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
• Experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale AVD environments.
• Experience with high availability, disaster recovery, performance optimization, and production readiness.
• Experience with AVD host pools, scaling plans, FSLogix, image management, and monitoring.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across authentication, connectivity, infrastructure, performance, and user experience issues.
• Experience developing architecture standards, reference architectures, deployment standards, and technical documentation.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Windows 365 and Microsoft Intune.
• Experience with Citrix environments and Citrix replacement initiatives.
• Experience with application packaging and enterprise application delivery.
• Experience supporting enterprise end-user computing modernization programs.
