VDBAs handle tasks such as database installation, configuration, performance tuning, backup, security, and troubleshooting through remote tools and secure connections. This role allows organizations to access specialized database expertise without the need for an on-site employee, often leading to cost savings and flexible support. Virtual DBAs are commonly employed by managed service providers or work as independent contractors.
