About the Collaborative Physician Role:
We are seeking a Collaborative Physician to provide clinical oversight and partnership for our South Carolina-based Nurse Practitioners. This role offers a flexible, part-time schedule ideal for a physician passionate about mentoring, quality improvement, and advancing value-based healthcare.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the collaborating physician for Upperline Health Nurse Practitioners in South Carolina in accordance with state Medical Board requirements.
  • Provide clinical consultation, guidance, and support to NPs on patient care and complex treatment plans.
  • Conduct chart reviews and periodic assessments of NP documentation to ensure compliance, quality, and alignment with Upperline protocols and state regulations.
  • Participate in scheduled meetings with NPs as required by state law and company policy.
  • Be available for timely communication and collaboration via phone, secure messaging, or virtual meetings.
  • Support NP onboarding, education, and clinical development, fostering consistency in care delivery.
  • Partner with regional and operational leaders to ensure regulatory compliance and clinical excellence.
Qualifications:
  • MD or DO with an active, unrestricted medical license. Additional state licensure is a plus.
  • Board Certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or a related specialty.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, preferably in primary care or chronic disease management.
  • Prior experience collaborating with or supervising Nurse Practitioners.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Knowledge of state-specific collaborative practice regulations.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with a commitment to team-based, value-driven care.
Role Details:
  • 1099 independent contractor position.
  • Flexible, part-time engagement.
  • Responsibilities include chart reviews, NP collaboration, and participation in virtual team meetings.
