Caring Companions Behavioral Health Center is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our dynamic team. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive, trauma-informed mental health assessments to explore patients' trauma history, ensuring tailored treatment approaches.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that emphasize trauma recovery, resilience-building techniques, and coping strategies.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate healing.
  • Lead both individual and group therapy sessions that empower patients to process their trauma experiences and foster emotional recovery.
  • Engage in multidisciplinary collaboration with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and integrated care for patients.
  • Provide immediate crisis intervention during trauma-related incidents, assisting patients in regaining stability and safety.
  • Educate patients and their families regarding trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available community resources for further support.
  • Ensure meticulous documentation of patient records in compliance with ethical and legal standards, using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and continuing education programs that focus on advancing trauma-informed care practices.
  • Stay informed about emerging research and best practices in trauma therapy, thus enhancing the quality of care provided.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on individuals who have experienced trauma, including those with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. You will play a critical role in helping these individuals navigate through their pain and experiences by providing tailored therapeutic support and fostering a healing environment.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of New Jersey.
  • Minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders, with expertise in trauma-informed treatment modalities.
  • Proven experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies and interventions to diverse patient populations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, adopting a compassionate and non-judgmental approach in interactions.
  • Ability to remain calm and maintain composure in high-pressure situations, providing stable support to clients.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and basic computer applications to ensure efficient documentation and communication.

Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience in a telehealth setting is highly desirable.
