Virtual CNAs assist on-site healthcare teams by observing patient activity, identifying potential health risks, and alerting staff to emergencies. They help improve patient safety, reduce falls, and enhance overall care while working from a centralized location. This role is commonly found in hospitals, nursing homes, and other healthcare facilities utilizing telehealth solutions.

What are the typical responsibilities of a virtual CNA during a remote shift?

As a Virtual CNA, your responsibilities may include remotely monitoring patients’ wellbeing, assisting with virtual check-ins, documenting vital signs, providing health education, and coordinating care with nurses and other healthcare professionals. While you won't perform hands-on tasks, you play a key role in ensuring patients remain comfortable and informed, and that any changes in their condition are promptly reported to the appropriate staff. These capabilities are crucial for delivering high-quality care, ensuring clear communication with patients and healthcare teams, and adapting effectively to remote work environments.
