Overview:

IMC is looking for an Analyst to drive forward a rapidly growing research team that supports its extensive Equity Options trading business. The position will work hand and hand with current experienced team members, senior traders and senior management to continue building IMC's proprietary research platform and research team. The role will include all of the functions of a research analyst as well as driving members of the research and trading teams to critically think about specific company analysis and the impact of that analysis on equity options market dynamics. Here your decisions have direct impact on the company's trading profits and we are a place where creativity, teamwork and innovation are recognized and rewarded.ย

Your Core Responsibilities:
  • Provide real-time news analysis to traders, including potential impact.
  • Provide critical feedback for traders and other analysts regarding company analysis and the potential impacts of those analyses
  • Construct possible outcomes for both short and medium term equity moving events.
  • Keep up to date with any and all major US sectors, including but not limited to: Biotech, Healthcare, Financials, Energy, Tech, and Industrial.
  • Understand the possible risks for certain equity positions by providing due diligence on existing positions and keep abreast of major Macro events.ย 
  • Work side by side w/ the trading team to analyze specific company events and manage risk around the expected impact of those events
  • Challenge the status quo and help create a vision for the future of the IMC research teamย 

Your Skills and Experience:

  • 1+ years' experience as an equity analyst/associate (trading environment preferred)
  • Proven experience covering a broad range of sectors, plus the willingness to adapt focus, based on evolving opportunities
  • Comfort working with incomplete information, utilizing quantitative information as available but able supplement with qualitative insightย 
  • Experience with programming in Python, R or Matlab is a plus.
  • Strong Options knowledge including an understanding of the Greeks
  • Ability to work successfully in a fast-moving and competitive environment.ย 
  • Desire to work in a team environment is a must.
