Dobbs Truck Group operates 25 commercial truck dealerships through two operating companies – Dobbs Peterbilt and Western Truck Center. These dealerships represent some of the best commercial truck brands including Peterbilt, Volvo, Mack, Autocar, and Hino and include locations in Arkansas, California, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oregon, Tennessee, and Washington.

I. General Job Description


This position will be responsible for the delivery and pick-up of commercial vehicles for the Lease division and service department. These vehicles include company owned full service lease and short-term rental vehicles, customer owned vehicles that are coming to our service department for service, and outside rental vehicles. This position will provide exceptional customer service and conduct business in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to safe vehicle operating procedures and legal requirements.
  • Transport of company owned full service lease and short-term rental vehicles, customer owned vehicles that are coming to service department for service, and outside rental vehicles.
  • Arrange for new full service lease and daily rental vehicles to be delivered to customers including calling other leasing companies for outside rentals when necessary.
  • Write rental contracts, completing checkouts and check-ins of full service lease and rental vehicles. This includes completing damage descriptions and taking photos of any damage noted.
  • Interior and exterior washing of rental and full service lease vehicles when needed.
  • Minor repairs on rental and full service lease vehicles as needed. This includes mud flaps, quarter fenders, and lightbulbs.
  • Deliver Lease vehicles to outside repair vendors, such as tire companies when necessary.
  • Know assigned customers by learning customer names, understanding the customer’s truck delivery expectations, and reports to the inside and outside sales staff about the customer purchasing practices.
  • Represent the Company with professionalism and provide excellent customer service as a key contact.

II. Minimum Job Qualifications

  • 18 years of age.
  • High school graduate/GED or 1 year work experience.
  • Valid commercial driver’s license in the state of employment a qualified MVR abstract.

III. Desired Job Qualifications

  • 1 year direct customer-facing sales experience.
  • Heavy duty truck aptitude.
  • Strong organization and communication with the ability to work independently without direct supervision.

IV. Mental Capability Requirements

  • Comprehension: Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral/written instructions and information.
  • Organization: Ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology.
  • Reasoning & Decision Making: Ability to apply common sense in performing job.
  • Communication: Ability to understand follow basic instructions and guidelines.
  • Mathematics: No mathematical ability is required.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme heat, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The noise level is normally loud.
