Job description

YRCT (YOUTH RECOVERY CT) UNDERGRADUATE INTERNSHIP

Are you passionate about youth recovery and are you looking for an undergraduate internship? YRCT (Youth Recovery CT) is seeking an intern passionate about bringing a youth voice to the recovery space. This internship will provide the opportunity for input on how to best engage young people on their journeys of recovery.

Example of duties:

  • Administrative duties to enhance experience of YRCT grantees.
  • Get trained as SMART Recovery facilitator to cofacilitate SMART Recovery meetings.
  • Attend community events to advertise and to promote YRCT.
  • Assist with updates to YRCT website.

Please be advised that what is listed below is mandatory. If you are unable to attend or commit, we regret that we will not be able to offer you the internship opportunity.

1.Virtual attendance at the Intern Seminar which is twice a month on Friday from 10am-12pm on Teams (this will count as group supervision)

2. Must attend the full in person orientation which consists of 3 eight hour days located at our Bristol location. The dates are 8/31 (830-430pm) 9/1 and 9/2 (9am-5pm)

3. Regular placement attendance throughout the internship regardless of school vacation calendar (we do not honor 6 weeks off between semesters)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

Enrolled in a 2-4 year higher education program majoring in social work or related human services field.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Lived experience or familiarity with recovery community.
  • Insight into current trends of young people in recovery.
  • Experience with posting to social media platforms to advertise YRCT events and to promote YRCT initiative.
