What is a virtual animal?

Virtual animals are computer-generated or digitally created representations of real or imaginary animals. They are commonly used in video games, educational software, augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and social media platforms. These digital creatures can be programmed with behaviors, appearances, and interactions, allowing users to engage with them for entertainment, learning, or companionship. The development of virtual animals involves 3D modeling, animation, artificial intelligence, and sometimes user input for customization. They can provide realistic simulations or whimsical, fantastical experiences depending on their intended use.
