Manus works across industries and value chains to accelerate the transition to BioAlternatives better performing and more sustainable versions of complex molecules traditionally sourced from plants, animals, or fossil fuels. Our platform is proven to work across scales, bridging the Valley of Death between lab and manufacturing more efficiently and more reliably to deliver the benefits of synthetic biology today. We are seeking a highly motivated Fermentation Plant Operator. This person will be expected to play an integral part of Manus Bios manufacturing and process development team located in Augusta, GA.

We are seeking a motivated Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer to support, maintain, and advance the technology infrastructure that enables our business and manufacturing operations. This role will be responsible for cloud and on-premises infrastructure, including Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft 365, Microsoft Intune, Windows and Linux servers, enterprise storage, backup, and related infrastructure services.

This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced infrastructure professional who is comfortable working across a broad technology environment, independently troubleshooting complex issues, and taking ownership of systems from implementation through ongoing support. The successful candidate will help improve the reliability, security, scalability, and automation of our technology environment while supporting continued adoption of cloud and emerging technologies.

Experience with AI, generative AI, and AI-enabled infrastructure and automation is preferred as Manus continues to expand the use of these technologies across the organization.

Core Responsibilities

  • Cloud Infrastructure: Administer, maintain, and optimize Microsoft Azure and AWS environments, including virtual machines, networking, storage, identity and access, security, monitoring, cost management, and hybrid cloud connectivity. Support cloud migrations, infrastructure modernization, capacity planning, backup, disaster recovery, and implementation of new cloud services.
  • Systems & Infrastructure: Administer and support Windows Server and Linux systems across cloud and on-premises environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, virtualization, patching, monitoring, backup, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management. Support enterprise SAN, NAS, cloud storage, virtualization, and backup infrastructure and maintain reliable and secure integration between cloud and on-premises systems.
  • Microsoft 365 & Endpoint Management: Administer and support the Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, Entra ID, and Microsoft Intune. Manage users, groups, licensing, permissions, external sharing, device enrollment, compliance policies, application deployment, security baselines, Windows Autopilot, Conditional Access, and related Microsoft cloud services.
  • Automation & Infrastructure Engineering: Identify opportunities to improve reliability and reduce manual administration through automation using technologies such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, Azure CLI, AWS CLI, Microsoft Graph API, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Develop and maintain secure, standardized, scalable, and well-documented approaches to infrastructure deployment and administration.
  • AI & Emerging Technologies: Support the evaluation and adoption of AI and generative AI technologies within IT and infrastructure operations. Identify practical opportunities to leverage AI for automation, monitoring, troubleshooting, documentation, security, and operational efficiency while helping ensure AI enabled solutions are implemented securely and responsibly.
  • Operational Excellence: Monitor infrastructure health, capacity, security, availability, and performance; troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues; maintain accurate technical documentation; and work collaboratively with internal teams, subject matter experts, vendors, and technology partners to deliver reliable infrastructure services.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on cloud and infrastructure experience, including professional experience supporting Microsoft Azure and/or AWS environments.
  • Hands-on experience administering Microsoft Azure and/or AWS, with the technical ability and willingness to support both cloud platforms.
  • Strong experience administering Windows Server and Linux environments.
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, and Entra ID.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune and modern endpoint management.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS,
  • DHCP, VLANs, routing, VPNs, firewalls, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
  • Experience with enterprise storage, virtualization, backup, and disaster recovery technologies.
  • Strong understanding of identity and access management, least-privilege access, MFA, Conditional Access, and cloud security principles.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to independently investigate and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Ability to maintain clear and detailed technical documentation for infrastructure, configurations, procedures, and system dependencies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a hybrid infrastructure environment combining on premises systems with Azure and AWS.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Intune administration.

  • Familiarity with DevOps concepts, Git, APIs, and CI/CD technologies.
  • Experience with AI, generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), agentic AI, or AI-assisted automation.
  • Familiarity with Azure AI, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker, or similar platforms.
  • Experience supporting technology infrastructure in a manufacturing, scientific, laboratory, or other operational environment.
