Job Opportunity: Cardiologist Imager
Our organization is on the lookout for a Board Eligible/Board Certified Cardiologist Imager to enhance our cardiology department. We are a prominent academic medical center recognized nationally, serving as a regional hub for advanced structural heart disease. We invite a Level III trained cardiologist with specialization in Advanced Structural Echocardiography and Intraprocedural Guidance to join our well-established cardiovascular team.
About the Role
This position presents a unique chance to become a vital part of our rapidly growing Structural Heart Program, where you will engage in a wide array of innovative transcatheter therapies within a collaborative academic setting. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with structural interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and imaging teams to deliver comprehensive imaging support throughout all stages of structural heart care, including:
- Pre-procedural planning
- Intraprocedural guidance in the cath lab and operating room
- Post-procedural follow-up
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for advanced structural echocardiographic imaging, which includes:
- Intraprocedural 2D/3D TEE guidance for various procedures such as:
- TAVR with leaflet modification (BASILICA, UNICORN)
- Mitral TEER
- Transcatheter mitral valve replacement (Including M3)
- Tricuspid TEER
- Tricuspid Replacement (Evoque)
- Paravalvular leak closure
- Left atrial appendage occlusion
- Closure of ASD, VSD, PFO
- Mechanical Aspiration of Intracardiac Mass (AngioVac, AlphaVac)
- Other advanced structural heart procedures
- Interpreting advanced echocardiography
- Participating in a multidisciplinary Structural Heart Team alongside Structural Interventional Cardiologists and Cardiothoracic Surgeons
- Teaching fellows, residents, and medical students
- Engaging in clinical research, trials, and program development
- Opportunities for leadership within the Echocardiography Laboratory for qualified candidates
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree (or equivalent)
- Board certified/eligible in Cardiovascular Disease
- Level III training in Echocardiography
- Specialized training/expertise in Advanced Structural Cardiac Echocardiography and Intraprocedural Guidance
- A strong passion for academic medicine, education, innovation, and clinical excellence
- Additional experience in cardiac CT or multimodality imaging is a plus

The expected total annual compensation ranges from $450,000 to $550,000, with the starting base salary adjusted based on experience and faculty rank, typically between $350,000 and $434,000. This figure includes variable compensation and is subject to departmental compensation plans, which will be discussed during the recruitment process.
