DC Virgo Preparatory Academy is accepting applications for potential openings. Applications will be reviewed when openings become available throughout the academic year for these positions:

The D.C. Virgo Preparatory Academy Teacher plans and delivers instruction and assessments based on the North Carolina Standard Course of Study. Instruction will enable students to learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their educational and social development. This position will utilize a personalized student data management system to individualize learning experiences for students, designed to help them reach their fullest potential. Ongoing formative assessment will provide necessary data to inform instructional decisions and design appropriate interventions.
Teachers at D.C. Virgo Preparatory Academy will operate as members of the school's kinship network, extended family unit. The kinship network will support the growth and development of all students. Staff will actively participate as members of professional learning communities with colleagues and faculty from the Watson College of Education.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Master's degree in education or related field
  • Valid North Carolina teaching license
  • Dual certification
  • Eligible to hold a commercial driver's license (CDL)
  • Experience mentoring pre-service or beginning teachers
