Area Leisure Sales Specialist

Primary Responsibilities:     The Area Leisure Sales Specialist supports the Prince Resorts Hawaii Leisure Sales Department across three distinctive properties: Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, The Westin Hapuna Beach Resort, and Prince Waikiki. This role focuses on proactive inside sales efforts, strengthening relationships with luxury travel advisors, consortia partners, and wholesale clients, while ensuring smooth coordination of sales initiatives, administrative functions, and business travel coverage for client site visits, tradeshows, and familiarization tours.  

Essential Functions: 

  • Support the Domestic Leisure sales team in implementing strategies and operational tasks within the luxury and leisure market.  

  • Serve as a key contact for luxury travel advisors, wholesalers, consortia partners, and leisure accounts, building strong relationships through regular engagement and personalized service. 

  • Support Directors and Sales Managers in developing strong relationships with key leisure customers and working with them and each hotels’ operations team on client bookings at the three PRH properties.    

  • Manage inbound inquiries, VIP requests, and client communications, ensuring prompt resolutions by coordinating with hotel departments and communicating directly with clients. 

  • Work with the Leisure Sales Team and the Director of Sales and Marketing to finalize any wholesale promotions with the customer and each hotel’s operations/revenue team. 

  • Conduct hotel site inspections, VIP client entertainment, and provide personalized touches such as amenity coordination, site touch points, and special guest experiences. 

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to present oneself in a polished, poised, and professional manner when engaging with clients, partners, and internal teams. 

  • Represent Prince Resorts Hawaii at some industry tradeshows, conferences, and client events, developing post-event reports and action plans to maximize ROI. 

  • Oversee and maintain the leisure client database, ensuring accuracy through ongoing updates from sales engagements, client correspondence, and prospecting efforts. 

  • Prepare sales-related documents, including proposals, contracts, advisement letters, sales reports, and presentations. 

  • Maintain and update hotel content, promotions, digital assets, and images across consortia portals, wholesale and online travel channels, and marketing platforms. 

  • Collaborate with hotel reservations and operations teams to ensure client stay details, special requests, and VIP touchpoints are executed flawlessly. 

  • Act as the PRH LUMINOUS Ambassador, ensuring brand consistency, program expertise, and timely handling of all LUMINOUS inquiries. 

  • Organize and coordinate business trips, client site tours, presentations, familiarization tours, tradeshows, and sales blitzes in key feeder markets, including interisland and US Mainland travel. 

  • Coordinate the preparation and distribution of sales collateral, marketing tools, client gifts, promotional materials, newsletters, and tactical initiatives.  

  • Perform periodic reviews of online content, wholesale, travel agent, and consortia channels to ensure brand consistency and accuracy. 

  • Track industry trends, competitive set analysis, and provide updates to the Leisure Sales team. 

  • Manage inventory of sales collateral, client gifts, and amenities, ensuring timely ordering and distribution. 

  • Process monthly invoices, expense reports, and department administrative functions as needed. 

  • Demonstrate creativity and resourcefulness in problem-solving, content creation, and sales support. 

  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

Working Conditions:   

  • Normal office conditions, sitting, lifting, standing. 

  • Must be extremely organized, able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and capable of supporting multiple Managers virtually and in person.  

  • Must have excellent attention to detail and follow-up. 

  • Some outdoors when providing hotel site tours, hosting events, or greeting clients. 

  • Must be able to travel off-island or out of state if required. 

Work Hours: 

  • Must be able to work schedule determined by the Director of Leisure and Sales Managers. 

Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week if required. 

Equipment Use: 

  • Demonstrated strong proficiency in the use of computers, hotels and sales applications, and other company system software, including but not limited to Opera, Marsha, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel, Canva, Google Workspace, and revenue/business applications. 

  • Ability to use various office equipment and applications. 

  • Must have access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s license. 

Mental and Physical Demands: 

  • Maintain a professional, polished appearance and demeanor at all times, in accordance with Prince Resorts Hawaii’s luxury brand standards, particularly when interacting with clients, and partners, and representing the company at events and tradeshows. 

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment with the ability to balance multiple priorities. 

  • Must be able to prioritize and organize workload to ensure deadlines are met. 

  • Manage stressful and challenging situations calmly and professionally. 

  • Able to stand and walk up to 3 hours in a day to meet with clients, conduct tours, meet with departments, and attend meetings. 

  • Able to sit at a desk to do administrative duties and work independently. 

  • Ability to travel interisland and to the US Mainland. 

  • Travel on airplanes; carry luggage and sales and marketing material and rent vehicles. 

  • Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. 

  • Be mobile for travel, walking, and lifting 50 lbs. 

Communication Demands: 

  • Address customer issues with tact and diplomacy and handle guest complaints, escalating as necessary. 

  • Efficiently liaise between departments to streamline communication and enhance organizational effectiveness. 

  • Frequent client-facing engagements and public appearances require the ability to present oneself in a professional, well-groomed, and polished manner. 

  • Able to conduct presentations to large or small groups of people in a professional manner. 

  • Must be able to receive feedback and coaching as necessary. 

Minimum Qualification Requirements: 

  • Hospitality Diploma or bachelor’s degree with previous experience working in hotels or other similar/related fields of work in the hospitality industry. 

  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years working in a similar administrative role within sales and marketing. 

  • The position will be based on either the island of Oahu or the Island of Hawaii and must be able to relocate if currently not based in Hawaii.
