Job description

WinnCompaniesย is searching for aย Maintenance Technician IIย to join our team at Squire Village, a 379-unit affordable housing and tax-credit community locatedย in Manchester, CT.ย 

In this role,ย you will perform maintenance functions in the community, including rental units, residentialย common areas,ย office,ย groundsย and parking lots.
The pay range for this role is $22.00 - $24.00 per hour dependent on experience. The selected candidate will adhere to the following schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a rotational on-call schedule of 1 week on, 3 weeks off.


Responsibilities:ย 

  • Diagnose and make repairs in such areas as, but not limitedย to:ย appliances, carpentry, hardware accessories, masonry, painting, basic electrical,ย basicย plumbing, and basicย HVAC.
  • Complete assigned service requests and repairs consistent with company operating procedures.
  • Ensure vacant apartments are prepared for occupancy and market readyย in accordance withย company standards.
  • Perform maintenance service orders associated with the preventive maintenance program, building and safety inspectionย and annual unit inspection.
  • Maintain grounds and curb appeal through snow removal, landscaping,ย and trash management activities.
  • Be available for on-call activity during off-hours and emergencies based on a pre-determined schedule and need.ย 


Requirements:ย 

  • 1-3ย years of relevant work experience.
  • General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances,ย andย HVAC.
  • A current vehicle license in good standing and meet the driving records standards outlined in the Company Safe Vehicular Operations Policy.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good communicationย and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic familiarity with computers and tablets.
  • Availability for on-call activity during off hours for urgent needs.
  • Ability to speak and understand basic English.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people and personalities.ย 


Preferred Qualifications:ย 

  • Vocational or technical training.
  • CAMT certification.
  • Prior HVAC experience.
