We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Industrial Mechanic with excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills to join our dynamic team. Industrial Mechanic position is located in New Paltz, NY.

Wage Description: $22 to $32 an hour depending on experience.

Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES:

  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
  • Provide resolution to mechanical and electrical problems
  • Repair defective equipment such as A/C-D/C drives
  • Perform routine electrical and mechanical preventative maintenance
  • Rebuild complex gear trains
  • Run machines for testing, repair and to coach operators on proper operation of machines
  • Document all maintenance activities accurately and maintain records
  • Ensure the work environment remains uncluttered, clean, and well-maintained to ensure safety
  • Assist in the procurement of spare parts and inventory management
  • Help ensure that all company standards and customer commitments are met
Qualifications

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Safety conscious
  • Ability to operate machinery to inspect, troubleshoot, evaluate performance, calibrate, repair, and perform preventative maintenance
  • Knowledge of mechanicals, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, power transmission and pumps
  • Experience organizing, planning, and prioritizing work
  • Consistent decision making and problem solving that may require creative out of the box thinking
  • Sense of urgency and accountability
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive attitude
  • Self-motivated, able to follow through with assignments to completion
  • Required to operate a forklift and scissor lift
  • Willing to work overtime and some weekends
  • Must lift up to 50 pounds
  • Regularly required to stand, sit, walk, carry equipment/parts, talk, hear, kneel, climb, crouch, stoop, and crawl.
  • Regular use of hands to feel, handle, reach, and operate various tools 

 

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required
  • Two-year technical degree and/or appropriate work experience
  • Basic working knowledge of mechanics, electronics, pneumatics, and hydraulics
  • Exceptional work ethics
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Flexibility / willingness to operate and work on multiple types of machinery
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, mechanical prints, and parts manuals
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience in Corrugated manufacturing or flexographic printing a plus
