Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic entry-level Fire Extinguisher Technician to join our dedicated team and make a difference by helping protect lives, property, and our valued customers. At Viking Fire Protection Group, we place trust in our team, and you will experience this supportive environment when working with us. As a Fire Extinguisher Technician with VFPG, your primary responsibilities will be to inspect and test fire extinguishers in a variety of facilities, identifying extinguishers needing maintenance, completing the necessary reports, and serving as the direct liaison to our customers. Responsibilities:

  • Completing inspections, maintenance, and recharging of extinguishers shall be certified.
  • Accurately complete all fire extinguisher inspection paperwork on time
  • When an inspection of any fire extinguisher reveals a deficiency in any of the conditions in 7.2.2 or 7.2.2.4, immediate corrective action shall be taken.
  • Perform thorough inspections every time and in a timely manner.
  • Being a team player.
  • Customer satisfaction is a must.
  • On the job training will be provided

Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of NPFA codes and standards (specifically NFPA 10)
  • Ability to lift up to 50  lbs
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Ability to work in often dirty environments
  • Valid state driver license able to pass MVR screening
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Pay Range: 

  • $20/hr - $25/hr (prior experience will be strongly considered)
