Job description

Brayman Construction Corporation an expanding, multi-entity, multi-disciplined organization in Saxonburg, PA is seeking an experienced, proactive Contracts Manager to lead the day-to-day administration and execution of construction contracts across the project portfolio. The Contracts Manager partners with Corporate Counsel and project teams on legal matters - prime contract execution, subcontract drafting and flow-down, purchase order and lease drafting, change order and claims documentation, and lien and bond claim administration. The successful candidate is a self-starter who understands business priorities and is detail-oriented, focused, and organized.
This position is ideal for a construction contracts professional who enjoys partnering with operations, negotiating commercial agreements, managing contract risk, and supporting high-profile public infrastructure projects.
Why This Opportunity?
This is more than a traditional contract administration role. You'll work alongside executive leadership, Corporate Counsel, and project teams to support some of the region's most challenging heavy civil and geotechnical construction projects. Your expertise will directly influence project execution, contractual compliance, risk management, and the company's long-term success.
CONTRACTS MANAGER SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the administration of prime contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, equipment leases, professional services agreements, and other commercial contracts from award through project closeout.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate contract terms while ensuring proper flow-down of contractual obligations, insurance requirements, bonding provisions, prevailing wage requirements, and public agency compliance.
  • Advise project managers on contract interpretation, notice requirements, change orders, Requests for Equitable Adjustment (REAs), claims documentation, and contractual risk.
  • Manage contract records, correspondence, modifications, and supporting documentation to protect the company's contractual rights and strengthen claim defense.
  • Coordinate lien rights, bond claims, certificates of insurance, and subcontract compliance while supporting federal contracting requirements, including FAR/DFARS, Davis-Bacon, Buy America, and DBE/MBE/WBE programs.
  • Partner with Corporate Counsel and outside legal counsel to support dispute resolution, mediation, arbitration, litigation, and continuous improvement of contract templates, policies, and best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONTRACTS MANAGER
  • Bachelor's degree required; paralegal certification or J.D. is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience drafting, negotiating, redlining, and administering construction contracts.
  • Experience supporting public infrastructure or heavy civil construction projects with a strong understanding of change orders, REAs, delay claims, and contract administration.
  • Working knowledge of federal and public agency contracting requirements, including FAR/DFARS, Corps of Engineers, DOT, Davis-Bacon, certified payroll, and DBE/MBE compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate commercial contract terms while balancing legal, financial, and operational risk.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software such as Procore, Viewpoint, CMiC, or similar.
  • Professional certifications such as CCCA or CCP are a plus.
