Job description

Job Title: Material Coordinator
Client: Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company
Duration: 1 Year (Possible Extension)
Location: Dubuque, IA 52001
Shift: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Position Summary:
The Material Coordinator II supports the material planning and control functions by ensuring timely and accurate flow of materials to meet production requirements. This role focuses on inventory accuracy, production scheduling, and material movement in line with the company's Production System principles.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate material flow, Kanban filling, and production part availability.

  • Manage procurement and delivery of experimental and production parts.

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Supply Management, and Experimental Shop teams to ensure material readiness.

  • Perform SAP transactions, including Material Masters creation, Material Movements, and View Extensions.

  • Utilize Master Schedule to prepare and distribute daily production schedules.

  • Audit replenishment cycles, identify shortages, and recommend corrective actions.

  • Ensure inventory accuracy and assist with process improvement initiatives.

  • Work critical shortage reports and expedite materials to avoid production delays

Required Skills & Experience:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Conditional Formatting).

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Good analytical and organizational ability.

Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • Knowledge of SAP (Warehouse, Inventory Control, or Materials Management Modules).

  • Familiarity with Tableau and Power BI for reporting.

  • Prior experience in Supply Chain, Operations, or Manufacturing environments.

  • Exposure to unionized workforce settings.

  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing or Production Systems.
