Job description

Radio Host / Multimedia Content Creator & Brand Influencer - Odessa/Midland
*This is a full-time, in-office opportunity. *
AN OPPORTUNITY AS BIG AS THE WEST TEXAS SKY.
Townsquare Media in Odessa/Midland is looking for a content superstar-a storyteller, a connector, a person who knows how to entertain all of the Permian Basin with personality, purpose, and fun.
This isn't just any opening - we have four great stations with different music and different audiences and we're looking for the best available talent to join one, or more, of them! Our market-leading stations include LoneStar 92-3 (Country), B-93 (Rhythm), MIX 97-9 (Hot AC), and K-Bat (Classic Rock).
Why Townsquare Media?
Townsquare is a media, entertainment, and digital marketing solutions company dedicated to serving small and mid-sized markets across the U.S. We own and operate 354 radio stations and more than 400 local websites across 74 markets-including trusted Odessa/Midland stations.
We combine the power of local media with best-in-class digital solutions to help businesses grow-offering everything from broadcast and digital advertising to SEO, web design, and programmatic marketing.
What You'll Do:
As a Radio Host / Digital Content Writer, you'll play a key role in shaping the daily sound and digital presence of our local stations. You'll engage audiences across on-air, online, social, and in the community by:
  • Hosting live, engaging on-air shows Monday through Friday
  • Preparing daily show content that entertains, informs, and connects with the target audience
  • Creating and publishing a minimum of two original local articles per day for the station website and mobile app
  • Writing and scheduling engaging posts across social platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube
  • Connecting with listeners through interviews, live appearances, remotes, and community events
  • Representing the station at promotions, live broadcasts, and special programming initiatives
  • Producing commercials, video segments, and short-form content for on-air, digital, and social distribution
  • Championing the station brand "on the streets" by building authentic community relationships and identifying local business partnerships
  • Collaborating with on-air, digital, production, and sales teams to support integrated content and influencer campaign initiatives
  • Creating and publishing original video content regularly, including social-first short-form video (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts) and longer-form segments that grow your personal on-screen brand
  • Prospecting and developing endorsement and influencer partnerships with local businesses, pitching yourself as a trusted community voice who can authentically promote products and services across on-air, video, and social platforms
  • Participating in person in high-visibility community events, client meetings, and business functions as a station ambassador who builds relationships that translate into revenue

What You'll Bring:
  • A big ol' personality with a love for local radio and its fans
  • Proven, active track record creating original written digital content AND video content across social platforms (show us your pages)
  • Strong on-air presence AND on-camera comfort, with the ability to connect authentically with listeners and viewers across every platform
  • Knowledge of basic FCC rules and regulations
  • Solid understanding of current events and various formats
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Comfort multitasking, meeting deadlines, and working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to operate control boards, remote broadcast equipment, and related production tools
  • Willingness to quickly learn and become proficient in NexGen and Adobe Audition
  • Exceptional public speaking, presentation, and networking skills with the confidence to walk into a business, build a relationship, and close an endorsement deal
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize effectively
  • Active video creator with a current, maintained presence on at least one short-form video platform (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts) and demonstrated comfort on camera
  • Entrepreneurial, sales-minded instincts: you think about your personal brand as a business, proactively seek out partnership and endorsement opportunities, and are motivated by revenue tied to your influence
  • Experience with or strong interest in influencer marketing, brand endorsements, or sponsored content creation, including the ability to pitch yourself compellingly to local advertisers
  • High School Diploma (required)
  • Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and vehicle (required)

Live Your Best Life in the West Texas Sunshine
Picture this: you wrap up your on-air and digital content, grab a brisket taco, enjoy some time by the pool, then host a live broadcast at one of the many local businesses or music venues in the area.
The Permian Basin has plenty of places to go and activities to do, but it is also close to college football games (like Texas Tech), the Ft. Davis Mountains, and even the 'big city' if you just love traffic!
This is a rare opportunity to take a legendary seat, on a legendary station, in a legendary place, and make it home!
If you've got the heart and a drive to succeed, West Texas is calling.
What's In It for You?
We offer a supportive environment where talent is developed and growth is encouraged:
  • Competitive salary + bonus program + endorsement revenue opportunities (your influence = your upside)
  • 3 weeks PTO + 9 paid holidays
  • Medical, Dental, Vision, and Pet Insurance
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan
  • Company-provided laptop
  • Casual, high-energy work environment
  • Opportunities for upward mobility within a growing media organization
  • Company discounts
  • Volunteer Time Off-give back to your community
  • And much more...
