Hourly Pay Range:

$51.47 - $79.78 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

  • Required Travel: local travel to other corporate sites, locations based on media needs will be required from time to time.

Job Summary:

As Senior Manager, Media Relations and Storytelling at Endeavor Health, you will drive the external communication strategy that highlights Endeavor Health's clinical excellence, community impact, and the people who make it all possible. You will actively engage with our clinical institutes, leaders, and frontline teams to uncover compelling narratives and translate them into multi-channel media and influencer strategies.

In this dynamic role, you will balance creative storytelling with operational leadership. You will cultivate strong relationships with key national, local and trade media, oversee the development of high-impact content (from press releases to video scripts), and support our experts in securing thought leadership and award opportunities. To ensure our efforts are highly effective, you will also lead the team responsible for PR measurement, monitoring, and real-time news updates, grounding or creative work in data.

As a leader within the Marketing & Communications department, you will manage and mentor direct reports, championing modern best practices, including the responsible use of generative AI. Additionally, you will serve as a designated Public Information Officer (PIO) for specific hospital(s), providing calm, strategic communications support during operational or emergency situations.

What you will do:

  • Partner with Marketing & Growth and Community Impact & Engagement colleagues to build relationships with clinicians, experts and teams across the system, as well as external partners. Maintain a strong "feet on the ground" presence to capture stories, identify emerging trends, and develop proactive media relations approaches that highlight our world-class clinical expertise and commitment to our communities.
  • Lead development and review of key written and multimedia communications on behalf of the organization and its experts, which may include press releases, newsroom, messaging/talking points, speeches, bylines, Q&As, blogs, website content, and social media posts that reinforce key messages and objectives.
  • Lead PR measurement and monitoring, aligned to the Marketing & Communications dashboard, and prepare summaries of media activities for senior management. Share key updates in real-time.
  • Serve as a strong, inspiring leader for direct reports and the broader Marketing & Communications department. Provide clear vision, mentorship, and development opportunities, while actively embedding modern communications best practices and tools, including the responsible use of generative AI.
  • Supporting key service line experts and the Community Impact & Engagement team in identifying, submitting for, and amplifying meaningful awards and thought leadership opportunities.
  • Serve as the public information officer for assigned hospital(s). Maintain a strong grasp of operational and facility-specific emergency plans, maintain strong relationships, and participate in emergency preparedness exercises. As needed, collaborate with operational leaders to develop and disseminate timely emergency response communications.

What you will need:

  • Education: Bachelors' degree in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, or a related field required. Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Relations, Communications, Marketing or Hospital Administration preferred.
  • Experience: Six (6) years of experience in the public relations or communications-related field required.
  • Two (2) or years of leadership experience required.
  • Three (3) years working with PR measurement technology required.
  • Unique or Preferred Skills:
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills across a variety of formats and familiarity with AP Style.
  • Issues and crisis management experience with exceptionally sound judgment, ability to summarize information and recommendations, manage up, coordinate with emergency response teams, and remain calm under pressure.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering on strategic, data-informed communications and thought leadership campaigns.
  • Experience with multi-media content development, including basic video and photography capture, and the amplification of content across evolving communications channels and platforms.
  • Attuned to communications best practices, including the use of generative AI and measurement capabilities, to support a high-performing team and align with the broader marketing mix.
  • Natural curiosity and the ability to tie storytelling to business strategy; an enthusiastic communicator skilled at building stories across multiple channels to inspire, inform, and build trusted relationships.
  • Media relations expert with experience serving as a spokesperson and strong relationships with key local and national print, broadcast and online media.
  • Experience leading media trainings for executives and subject matter experts.
  • Strong pulse on current events, trends and pop culture.
  • Strong project management skills, including cross-functional collaboration, the ability to prioritize for both self and team, and adhere to budgets and timelines.
  • Proficient in the use of PowerPoint.
  • Strong executive presence.
  • Proven team and agency management skills.
  • Strong presence of mind, analytical problem-solving skills, and the sound judgment required to lead teams and projects through organizational change.
  • Ability and willingness to travel between locations as job requires and frequently be on-site, forging strong relationships, coordinating opportunities and story mining.
