Job description

Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU's mission; plans video tasks according to scheduling and client needs; plans and facilitates high quality studio and field based production and event coverage, converts and delivers format of completed edited products and performs other related duties as assigned.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
1. Research: Remains abreast of existing and emerging technologies, processes, products, services and leading industry performance benchmarks; watches and researches promotional videos and other video productions.
2. Pre-Production: Brainstorms and develops video concepts in cooperation with existing University brand initiatives; Attends meetings with internal clients and interacts with them to develop and coordinate video solutions for their requests; Storyboards and sketches said concepts for production purposes; Plans and schedules video shoots.
3. Production: Conducts field-based video production which involves interacting with clients and operating all portable video and audio equipment; transports and sets up lighting and audio equipment as required; provides limited troubleshooting and maintenance of field production equipment; maintains and organizes camera equipment in an orderly manner.
4. Post-Production: Plans and performs video post-production tasks which include ingesting, sorting, converting, and organizing video footage; makes editorial decisions, rough cuts, audio adjustments, color correction, and final editing using Final Cut Studio Pro software and/or Adobe After Effects; Compresses video project for output and makes video available in a variety of formats as required.
5. Communicates with marketing team as project is edited; Obtains approval from all individuals involved in each project on drafts and final proofs.
Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies
A high school diploma or GED and 1-3 years' experience are required. Must be proficient using Apply computer platform and Apple Final Cut Pro Studio 7, Adobe Creative suite, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Media Encoders, Photoshop and Illustrator. Effective communication both verbally and in writing. Ability to intuitively reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature. If the employee is required to travel in performing the duties and responsibilities of the position, the use of one's personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) may be required for travel. Proof of a valid driver's license, an acceptable DMV record, LU Driving Approval, and liability insurance is required when driving in the performance of the employee's position.

Compensation is determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, along with University needs and external market conditions. Market benchmarks may be used, as appropriate, in combination with internal equity to ensure pay is fair and aligned with the broader compensation structure.
The position may also be eligible for comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and tuition assistance.
