What is video production?

Video production is the process of creating video content for various purposes such as films, commercials, online content, or corporate videos. It involves several stages including pre-production (planning, scripting, and organizing), production (filming and capturing footage), and post-production (editing, sound design, and finalizing the video). Professionals in video production work with cameras, lighting, audio equipment, and editing software to produce high-quality visual projects. The field requires both technical skills and creative vision to effectively communicate messages and stories through video.

What are the qualifications to get a video production job?

The qualifications needed to work in a video production career vary. To pursue a career in production or post-production, you may choose to earn an associate degree in digital video production followed by a postsecondary certificate or degree in a specialty such as video editing, sound editing, or camera operation. Some video production professionals learn their skills through on-the-job experience. Regardless of your degree, employers require a portfolio of successful work, which may be part of your student coursework.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a video production specialist, and why are they important?

Job description

Description:

If you’re someone who loves the intersection of ministry and production—where technical excellence meets life change—this might be the role for you.

We’re looking for a Stage Production Manager who is passionate about creating environments where people can encounter God without distraction. This role is about more than running sound or lights—it’s about building teams, developing people, and helping bring meaningful, engaging worship experiences to life at Willow North Shore.

What You’ll Do

You’ll lead and grow a thriving technical arts volunteer team, helping people discover and use their gifts while developing in their faith. From recruiting and training to coaching and empowering leaders, you’ll create a pipeline of volunteers who take ownership and serve with excellence.

You’ll also oversee all aspects of production for weekend services and special events, ensuring every detail—from audio to lighting to video—supports worship, removes distractions and follows Central Arts & Worship strategy. Your goal? Consistency, clarity, and excellence every time.

Behind the scenes, you’ll manage production systems so they’re reliable, ready, and continually evolving. Whether troubleshooting an issue or exploring new ways to enhance the experience, you’re always thinking one step ahead.

And you won’t do it alone—you’ll collaborate closely with pastors, worship leaders, and the Central Arts & Worship team to bring cohesive, impactful services to life.

What Success Looks Like
  • A fully staffed, growing, and engaged volunteer production team
  • Worship services that are smooth, distraction-free, and impactful
  • Production systems that are reliable, maintained, and continually improving
  • Strong collaboration that elevates the overall ministry experience

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this position is $46,000 – $63,000, depending on experience and education.

We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Life insurance
  • Retirement savings with company match
  • Maternity and paternity leave
  • Generous paid time off
  • Mental health counseling reimbursement
  • And more
Why This Role Matters

This role plays a key part in helping people experience Jesus clearly and meaningfully. By removing distractions and building strong teams, you’re creating space for life change to happen—week in and week out.

Requirements:What You Bring
  • You’re a leader and a developer of people—someone who enjoys building teams as much as running production. You’re both technically skilled and relationally driven.
  • You likely have experience with tools like ProPresenter, audio systems, lighting, and video production, and you’re comfortable troubleshooting systems. You’re also a teacher at heart, able to train and empower volunteers of all skill levels.
  • You’re collaborative, humble, and always learning—someone who can give and receive feedback and is motivated to keep growing. Most importantly, you have a growing, authentic relationship with Jesus and a desire to help others grow too.

What to Expect
  • Full-time role (40+ hours/week), typically Sunday–Thursday
  • Based on-site at our Willow North Shore campus (located in Glenview, IL)
  • A dynamic, team-oriented ministry environment
  • Opportunities to lead, innovate, and make a meaningful impact
