Position Summary
The Legal Videographer is responsible for reliably and accurately recording video testimony, depositions, trials, and other legal proceedings in accordance with client specifications, applicable legal requirements, and company standards. This role also supports video editing, synchronization, scheduling, equipment management, and professional client service.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Record high-quality, accurate video of depositions, trials, hearings, witness preparation, site inspections, and other legal proceedings.
  • Set up, test, operate, and troubleshoot video, audio, lighting, streaming, and related production equipment.
  • Synchronize video recordings with deposition transcripts and other legal text using applicable litigation-support software.
  • Edit, compress, convert, and deliver video files as requested by clients and in accordance with project requirements.
  • Support video services including site documentation, day-in-the-life videos, corporate training and seminar recordings, videoconferencing, and live video streaming.
  • Organize and maintain pre-production, production, and post-production materials for each assignment.
  • Manage video equipment and product inventory, including sourcing, tracking, organization, maintenance, and returns.
  • Assist with scheduling assignments, maintaining the video calendar, and assessing daily staffing and equipment needs.
  • Identify and resolve routine technical, scheduling, and client-service issues; escalate concerns promptly when necessary.
  • Recommend improvements to video-production processes, procedures, and service delivery.
  • Communicate professionally, courteously, and promptly with clients, attorneys, court reporters, vendors, and internal team members.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and, when needed, provide guidance to associates and assist with escalated client issues.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle all legal proceedings, recordings, transcripts, and client information with discretion.


Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
  • Experience with legal video production, deposition videography, courtroom video, or a related professional video-production environment.
  • Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office, and relevant video-production software and applications.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe video-editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Experience with litigation-support products, including iPro Trial Director, TimeCoder, or similar applications.
  • Knowledge of video compression, file formats, video synchronization, and secure digital file delivery.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of video-production equipment, including cameras, microphones, lighting, tripods, rigging, and related accessories.
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and remain professional in time-sensitive legal environments.
  • Ability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Reliable personal vehicle and valid driver’s license, with the ability to travel to client sites and assignments as needed.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience recording video depositions and synchronizing video with transcripts.
  • Experience operating videoconferencing and live-streaming platforms.
  • Prior experience coordinating physical video productions or managing video-equipment inventory.
