Job Description

The Video Production Specialist will support the Video Production Lead in the conceptualization, creation, and development of multimedia content (audio/video/animation) for both external and internal communication initiatives. This role involves assisting in the production of videos at our New York City video studio and contributing to projects that enhance the firm's messaging and objectives. The position is onsite-based, requiring four days a week in the office, with a remote option on Fridays, though there is an expectation to come in on Fridays as needed.

Primary Functions & Responsibilities

Ares regularly produces internal and external videos utilized in various online and live events. The Video Production Specialist will support the Video Production Lead in both internal video production efforts and collaborations with external production companies to create video, audio, and animated content. Additionally, this role will assist in the management of the New York City video studio, ensuring it is equipped and maintained for production activities.

To excel in this role, the Video Production Specialist must possess strong interpersonal skills and be a conceptual thinker. Creativity, articulate communication, and the ability to understand and convey diverse concepts are essential. Additionally, outstanding execution and organizational skills, coupled with excellent judgment and a commitment to exemplary ethics and values, are imperative for success.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with internal clients and stakeholders to support the development and delivery of high-quality multimedia content aligned with project objectives.
  • Provide production support across studio, remote, and on-location shoots, including assisting with concept development, scripting, storyboarding, scheduling, and coordination.
  • Assist with production logistics, including crew and talent coordination, location scouting, and on-site support.
  • Capture, edit, and produce video and audio content, including media ingestion, editing, sound design, motion graphics, and final delivery, ensuring outputs meet firm standards.
  • Operate and support production equipment, including cameras, lighting, audio, and teleprompting, across both in-person and virtual environments.
  • Support studio operations, including setup, equipment testing, inventory tracking, and maintaining a production-ready environment.
  • Organize and maintain video assets, including archiving and managing media libraries for ongoing and future use.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to support project execution and meet established timelines.
QualificationsEducation:
  • College degree in Film or Television Production, or a related degree is preferred
Experience Required:Highly experienced in:
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience, preferably within the Financial Services industry.
  • Microsoft Office (i.e., Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (i.e., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD, Acrobat Pro, etc.)
  • Video, animation, audio and post-production including digital video editing with Adobe Premiere, still and motion graphics design with Adobe After Effects, and video compression for multiple delivery platforms.
  • Working knowledge of studio production, along with video and audio production equipment, including professional cameras, lighting, and sound recording techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address issues that arise during production and a basic understanding of PC troubleshooting.
  • Experience in live corporate event settings, with a strong understanding of broadcast and production technology, including video, audio, and lighting transport standards.
  • A friendly and helpful attitude toward producers and stakeholders, with the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully in written and in-person interactions.
  • Willingness to assist team members and maintain responsiveness through email and video calls.

Compensation

The anticipated rate for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus.

$70,000 - $75,000
