Job description

The Program & Operations Intern supports the California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom (CFAITC) team with program coordination, administrative organization, and digital resource management. This position assists with maintaining internal systems, organizing educational resources, preparing for events, and supporting program tracking and outreach efforts.


The intern will gain hands-on experience in nonprofit program administration, operations, communications, and agricultural education while contributing to projects that support educators and students across California.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Administrative & Operations Support – 35%

• Assist with general data entry and database updates.

• Support donor acknowledgement processes and documentation.

• Assist with program tracking, data entry, and basic reporting.

• Complete organization and clean-up of filing cabinets, storage areas, and the teacher lending library.

• Assist with organization and clean-up of the organization’s shared W Drive, including photo organization

and file structure improvements.

• Support Neon CRM data clean-up and assist with ongoing database maintenance.


Program Resource & Digital Content Support – 35%

• Develop and maintain a workflow and tracking document for CFAITC curriculum resources (print and

digital), including noting revision dates and storage locations.

• Conduct website audits to ensure all links are functional and resources are up to date based on revision

dates.

• Assist in organizing and editing the CFAITC YouTube video library, including creating SEO-friendly titles

and descriptions.

• Support general digital resource organization and accessibility improvements.


Event & Program Support – 20%

• Assist with preparation for CFAITC programs, events, and conferences.

• Help organize event materials, resources, and supplies.

• Provide general event preparation and logistical support for team activities and outreach.


Communications & Outreach Support – 10%

• Assist with social media content curation and development, including reels and visual content.

• Help gather photos, videos, and content for program promotion.

• Support basic communication and outreach tasks as needed.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Interest in agriculture, education, nonprofit work, communications, or program management.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.

• Ability to work collaboratively with a team and take initiative on projects.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling organizational data.

• Manage special projects as assigned.

• Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time, lift 30 lbs., and set up and tear down exhibits.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• College student or recent graduate in agriculture, communications, education, business, nonprofit

management, or a related field.

• Experience with social media platforms and digital content creation.

• Experience with database systems or CRM platforms.


Compensation: $20.00/hr.

Hours: 16 hours per week (in person)
