Job Description
Redlands Community College is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the position of Basketball Game Camera Operator. This is a part-time position responsible for operating the primary game camera during home basketball games and providing high-quality video coverage for live streaming, game analysis, recruiting, and athletic department media needs. Work is primarily performed in a basketball arena during live athletic competitions. Game-day hours may include evenings, weekends, and occasional special events.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Arrive prior to game time to assist with camera setup, testing, and positioning
  • Operate the primary broadcast camera during basketball games
  • Follow game action and maintain consistent professional framing, focus, and camera movement throughout live competition
  • Capture live game footage for athletic department streaming and digital platforms
  • Maintain a professional presence and appearance while representing the college and athletics department
  • Perform other game-day media or production duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Basic understanding of camera operation, framing, zoom, focus, and tracking moving subjects
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, live-event environment
  • Ability to remain focused and attentive throughout the duration of a game
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work evening and weekend games

Preferred Skills:
  • Previous experience operating a video, broadcast, or production camera
  • Experience filming basketball or other live sporting events
  • Knowledge of basketball and an understanding of game flow
  • Experience with athletic event video production, including live sports streaming and broadcast production
