Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Promotions
DEPARTMENT:

JOB DESCRIPTION:
PRIMARY DUTY:
The Assistant Athletics Director - Marketing & Promotions is responsible for coordinating marketing, promotions, and licensing for intercollegiate athletics.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Develops and conducts the sports marketing program for intercollegiate athletics;
  • Oversees production of all print, electronic, and other media advertising
  • Aids the Deputy Athletic Director in the cultivation of corporate partners and sponsors
  • Manages Game Day sponsorships
  • Responsible for promoting ticket sales
  • Develops and implements appropriate promotional and marketing programs to enhance program visibility and support to enhance attendance at Northwest athletic events-Must have promotional plan for ALL sports (to be approved by the Director of Athletics and marketing details approved by the Marketing office)
  • Produces written game scripts for home games
  • Monitors and maintains all aspects of the athletics department's licensing program, including coordination with external vendors
  • Oversees the operations of the video scoreboard in football and the sound systems in football, volleyball, basketball, soccer, baseball, and softball as a part of the game-day experience
  • Supervises student assistants or part-time labor as part of the video board or sound systems operations or promotional activities
  • Assists the Director of Athletics with special projects as assigned
  • Works closely with the University Marketing office to coordinate and implement messaging, design, and provide support for the University marketing plan
  • Performs other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor's degree
Skills: Basic knowledge of marketing, promotions, and licensing; excellent communication skills, both written and presentation; excellent customer service and people skills
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position must work and travel nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary. This position must purchase and maintain a cellular device and service that will be used for work functions. This position must be responsible for plan choices, calling areas, service features, termination clauses, and paying for all charges associated with the cellular device and service.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises student assistants or part-time labor as part of the video board or sound systems operations or promotional activities; Supervises and conducts the athletics internship program for marketing and promotions

Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
