Job description

  • Responsible for overall content and flow of live, as-live, and recorded radio broadcast shows and games.
  • Monitor all radio brands and provide severe weather coverage when needed.
  • Ensure satellite shows run smoothly by following established timelines and program logs including breaks. Runs the board flawlessly, handling changes, and monitoring equipment to ensure it is operating correctly.
  • Edit podcasts and radio audio, post to podcast feeds; create audio highlights for promos, social media and other digital platforms.
  • Be able to handle last minute and unexpected changes during regular work shift, during shows and at other times as necessary. Communicate quickly and clearly.
  • Work seamlessly with other departments.
  • Help with basic video recording and podcast production as needed.
  • Attend and participate in meetings as required.
  • Attend station and podcast events if needed.
  • This position will generally keep work hours of 2p to 10p but will be required to stay late for game coverage and severe weather coverage when needed as determined by manager.

  • One+ years of experience as producer or board operator. On air work a plus but not required.
  • Comfortable running (and learning) multiple different board operating styles.
  • Experience with radio clocks, logs, and podcasting.
  • Working knowledge of radio automation systems.
  • Demonstrated ability for posting to social media including, but not limited to, Facebook, YouTube, X, and Instagram.
  • Willingness to learn new tools and how they can help content, distribution, or sales.
  • Must work in the office or on location.
  • Multi-task with a variety of duties.
  • Ability to ad lib while on air in a coherent manner in situations that can change quickly.
  • Project a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work in compliance with company and FCC policies and procedures.
  • Work established schedule and other hours as needed. Travel to and attend station promotional appearances including sales appearances.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Sits or stands for extended periods of time. Manual dexterity to manipulate computer keys and other controls and equipment. Must have good vision and hearing and be able to discern video and sound on many platforms. Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing. Requires the ability to think quickly and tactically and to articulate information in a clear and concise manner to others verbally and in writing.

Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. The Company will make reasonable physical accommodations to facilitate the ability to perform essential job functions.
