mxdwn is an entertainment news site that brings its audience "all that matters in entertainment" across the board. As part of the mxdwn Games department, we strive to engage our audience with the most important, relevant, and varied content from an ever growing and evolving industry. We are currently looking for passionate writers with strong and varied interests in the video game industry and community.

Job Description

mxdwn Games News Writers are expected to be on top of and keep up to date with what's going on in the gaming industry on a daily basis. Writers are encouraged to go out and find the news that is relevant, fresh, and interesting to a broad gaming audience. They are expected to be able to research, source information, and then convey that news in a well structured, engaging article, on a 5 days a week basis.

Qualifications

To be successful in this position, you must:

  1. Have a passion for journalism, writing, and video games.
  2. Have a competent understanding of the English language including: grammar, flow, structure, and spelling.
  3. Have adequate time to properly research and write a cohesive article 5 times a week. (300 words minimum)
  4. Be able to work professionally with all members of the Games department.
  5. Have access to the internet and your own personal computer.

Please note that this is an UNPAID position.The benefits of joining the mxdwn Games team are experience, exposure, and a foot in the door into the industry.

No prior experience is required. A degree in Journalism, Creative Writing, or similar fields are a plus. If selected, you will receive training on how to write and publish a standard article using our site's content management system.
